Couples Therapy
Couples Therapy offers a supportive and impartial space for you as a couple to discuss and resolve your problems.
Couples can be opposite sex, same sex, married, in a partnership or ending one. Couples work canalso include other close relationships such as parent and adult child.
People come to Couples Therapy for a variety of reasons. It may be that you and your partner are in conflict, or facing separation or divorce.
You may be experiencing sexual difficulties or life-changes such as becoming new parents or children leaving home.
The aim of Couples Therapy is to allow both parties equal time and space to give their point of view and hear their partner’s. This open communication will help a couple to understand each other more fully, and to work together to find ways out of their current difficulty.
My role as a therapist is to facilitate more effective communication. This may involve clarifying unhelpful patterns of behaviour and supporting you to express your feelings, needs and wants.
Being stuck in old patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving is a common human experience.
Couples Therapy can help you do things differently.
